‘Blinding Lights’ was released in 2019 and served as the lead single from Abel’s 2020 album, After Hours.  In 2020, ‘Blinding Lights’ held the Guinness World Record for the biggest-selling digital single and in 2021, he broke that record again with ‘Save Your Tears.’

The Weeknd recently dropped ‘Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength),’ which is the theme song that he wrote for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water.  “The best part about writing the song was getting notes from James and making sure that all the lyrics and the tones fit the themes of the film.  “I think I rewrote the song maybe six times to make sure it was perfect,” Abel explains.

And in a new interview with Hollywood Reporter, The Weeknd revealed he’s currently working on new music, “I’ve definitely been inspired.  I’ve been in the studio.”
