An autopsy report was released on Friday (Sept. 11) and it states ‘Glee’ star Naya Rivera ‘raised her arm and called for help as she accidentally drowned while on a boating trip with her 4-year old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey at Lake Piru, which is northwest of Los Angeles on July 8.

The report, issued from the Ventura County Medical Examiner states, “The boy noticed the decedent put her arm up in the air and yelled ‘help.’  The decedent then disappeared in to the water.”  The report also stated Naya knew how to swim well however, she had previous issues with vertigo, and prior to the boating trip, suffered from a sinus infection.

According to 680 News, “Toxicology tests also showed she had small, therapeutic amounts of the anti-anxiety drug diazepam and the appetite suppressant phentermine in her system.  Naya also had a small amount of prescribed amphetamines in her system, but did not identify physical conditions or drugs as factors in her death.”

Josey, who Naya shares with ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, was found alone and sleeping on the rented boat hours after Naya drowned.  Naya’s body was found floating five days later – her body was located in an area of the lake that’s about 30 feet deep.

Naya is now the third cast member of the hit she Glee to have passed away – Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) died at the age of 31 from a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol and Mark Salling (Puck), who killed himself in 2018 at the age of 35 after he plead guilty to child pornography charges.  Naya and Mark dated throughout their Glee days.

May Naya, Cory, and Mark rest in peace.
