It’s official! Lizzie McGuire and her on-screen family are all returning for the Disney+ reboot!

Two months ago, Hilary Duff revealed to the world that a Lizzie McGuire reboot was in the works and now, it’s been confirmed Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas will reprise their iconic roles as mama Jo, father Sam and brother Matt McGuire.  Check out the amazing photo Hilary posted on Instagram below.

Ricky Strauss who is the president of content and marketing for the new Disney+ platform expressed in a statement, “We are incredibly excited to bring back one of the most popular Disney Channel series of all time along with some beloved and familiar faces.  h Terri at the helm and Hilary, Hallie, Robert, and Jake back after all these years, it’s our honor to welcome the McGuire family into the Disney+ family.”

During During the D23 Expo convention back in August, Hilary dished, “She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now.  She’s working as an apprentice to a fancy New York City decorator.  She has her dream guy, who owns a cool SoHo restaurant. She has her dream apartment in Brooklyn. And she’s getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday.”  Hilary continues, “She is still dealing with that 13-year-old no-holds-barred animated Lizzie that’s constantly babbling in her adult Lizzie head, so she has to deal with that. But I think that’s what’s going to make it really special.”

Check out this super-cute video Hilary made for Instagram a few months back, making it known to the world that Lizzie is coming back.

The original Lizzie McGuire came into our lives in 2001, aired until 2004 and in 2003, The Lizzie McGuire movie hit theatres.  A release date for the reboot has yet to be revealed.
