Just in case you aren’t tired of exercising your democratic right, the government of BC is giving you one more chance. The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is now taking votes on what will become British Columbia’s official fossil.

We already have a flower (Pacific Dogwood), gemstone (jade), bird (Steller’s Jay), tree (Western Red Cedar), mammal (Spirit Bear), and fish (Pacific Salmon). So which fossil do you think best represents our province? Let’s take a look at the short list:

Canadian Horn Ammonite

BC Fossils

Lace Crab

EARTH Magazine

Elasmosaur

DinosaurPictures

Trilobite

Mental Floss

Eosalmo

Fusulinid Foraminifera

You can cast your official vote here, before this Friday November 23.
