P!NK wrote a powerful and fiery letter to the Recording Academy after it’s President, Neil Portnow said, women need to “step up” in all aspects of the music industry.

The Recording Academy President also went on to say, he doesn’t have “personal experience of those kinds of brick walls” faced by women and that he thinks women “would be welcome” in the industry.

Well duh! Women HAVE and ALWAYS should be welcome in the music industry.

His statements grabbed the attention of so many people, especially the attention of talented woman, P!NK!

P!NK wrote this powerful letter firing back at the Recording Academy:

“When we celebrate and honor the talent and accomplishments of women, and how much women STEP UP every year, against all odds, we show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal and what it looks like to be fair.”

Nicely said, P!NK!

P!NK’s message was well received by other women in music, Katy Perry being one of the many:

Thank-you P!NK for standing up for all women. You are an inspiration and a true gem!
