In the big three categories (Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year) only 3 women are nominated out of 15 entrees. Lorde’s album Melodrama is up for Album of the Year, while Julia Michaels and Alessia Cara are up for their co-writing on Song Of The Year for Issues and 1-800-273-8255 respectively.

Last year thanks to multiple nominations for Adele and Beyonce, 7/15 nominations were for female artists, and all three were won by Adele.

Take a look at the nominees for Record Of The Year for the Artist and Producer:

TL;DR there’s not a singer female in all of the artists, producers, engineers, or mixers for the nominees of this category.

That being said, there are categories where the females do represent and dominate. Like Best Pop Solo Performance:

1. LOVE SO SOFT
Kelly Clarkson
2. PRAYING
Kesha
3. MILLION REASONS
Lady Gaga
4. WHAT ABOUT US
P!nk
5. SHAPE OF YOU
Ed Sheeran

But this just isn’t enough for us. Was 2017 just underrepresented by females? Or did the Grammys make a mistake?
