Simply put, the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is certified Sparrow Crazy!

The hype leading up to this film was off the charts, and after two hours and change, I’m pleased to say Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales did not disappoint one bit. In this latest tale in the storied franchise, Will Turner’s son Henry (Brenton Thwaites) is on a quest to free his father (Orlando Bloom) from his eternal curse, and the only cure has to do with that scoundrel Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and a mystical magical trident most believe doesn’t even exist.

We find out quickly that the quest for the Captain’s whereabouts is on more people’s minds than a mere few. The fifth film in the series is packed with outstanding performances courtesy of DeppJavier Bardem and Geoffrey Rush who, together, are a seemingly unstoppable force on screen. The caliber of talent is only second to the revolutionary special effects that turn this movie upside down and right side up for all the right reasons. Dead Men Tell No Tales is a well written brilliantly executed thrill ride that stays true to the originals; bridging the gap and bringing things full circle for diehards, while satiating new fans alike.
