This is why I have trust issues.

This image was making the rounds over the weekend and it had everyone losing their MINDS.

Obviously, this makes it look like we could be getting a new season of Friends on NBC, right? I mean, it would make sense. There is already a Will & Grace reboot happening this fall, along with a number of other shows.

But before you lose your mind with excitement, it’s all a big fat LIE.

Of course, a bunch of people fell for it before doing any digging, but don’t worry, I did the digging for you to save you the embarrassment of posting this fake story.

First, let’s consider the source.

The original image was first uploaded to a Facebook page called David Schwimer.

Here is everything wrong with this post:

  • David Schwimer and NOT David Schwimmer, which is actually how you spell his name.
  • The URL has Ross Gheler in it, which, again, is incorrect.
  • The page only has one post ever. This poster.
  • It was posted very conveniently on the 10th anniversary of the airing of the last episode of Friends.

Second, the showrunners and the cast members have stated time and time again that there aren’t any plans for a revival season any time soon.

Third, the Internet is dark and full of fake things. Always question the source and validity of EVERYTHING you see online.

Only believe trusted new sources and even then, still question because while we do strive to not intentionally mislead you, sometimes we mess up too because we are all human after all.
