Yeah, it just turned into a Great Friday if you’re a Star Wars fan.

The first trailer has been released for The Last Jedi, the 8th installment in the Star Wars series.

The first official teaser shows us two glorious minutes of footage from Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi that was debuted on April 14 at Star Wars Celebration 2017.

The teaser shows us that The Last Jedi picks up right where the Force Awakens ends. We see Rey (Daisy Ridley) undergo training and wielding a lightsaber, guided by Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). We witness what looks to be an attack on the Resistance. And we hear Luke utter an ominous sentence: “It’s time for the Jedi to … end.”

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! Is Rey the Last Jedi or is Luke? What will happen if the Jedi are no more? How will balance be kept to the force since it appears that Kylo Ren could be training as an apprentice to become a Sith Lord. If there are Sith doesn’t that mean there needs to be Jedi to maintain balance?!

This installment in the Star Wars universe will not be directed by J. J. Abrams who brought new life to the franchise with The Force Awakens back in 2015. Instead, Star Wars VIII will be directed by Rian Johnson, known for directing a number of episodes in the popular series Breaking Bad and also helped write the screenplay for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out at the end of this year, December 15th.
