Every day is April Fools on the Internet. Question everything.

WestJet decided to release their annual April Fools day prank a bit earlier than usual this year! Tomorrow is the ‘one day’ of the year where you can pull a prank on someone. But really, that’s just already what happens every day online so do we really need a specific day of the year to do this anymore?

This year, they released their prank a day early and the joke was all about WestJet rebranding as Canada Air. Yes, it is meant to poke fun at rival travel company Air Canada as well as celebrate Canada 150.

In a blog on their website, they wrote:

“We are proud to announce that effective immediately WestJet will be rebranded as Canada Air.

The people who make up our brand and airline represent many of the Canadian values we are known for globally. Kindness, a great sense of fun, warmth, a desire to do the right thing and an incredible sense of caring are what make Canadians Canadian and we believe it’s time for our name to reflect this reality. We are sorry we didn’t do it sooner.”

Repainting of aircraft and installation of new signage for all airports will begin April 1, 2017. To celebrate this important milestone in our history, we’ve created a video. We hope you enjoy it.

In the past, the Canadian airline company has released joke videos about having child-free cabins:

Last year’s prank was centered around R.A.L.F.H. a Robotic Automated Light Food Handler that would replace the typical foot cart that blocks up the aisle with a robot suspended from the ceiling that brought you your food and drinks.

Wait, that acually sounds brilliant, can WestJet please make this one a reality?!
