A new study says that one in five people have hacked into their friend’s Facebook Page. Find out if any of your friends have hacked into yours.

You may think your friends are trustworthy, but new data shows they’re probably looking at your Facebook account without your knowledge.

University of British Columbia researchers polled 1,308 U.S. adult Facebook users and found 24 percent had snooped on the Facebook accounts of their friends, romantic partners or family members using the victims’ own computers or cellphones.

Many say they do it out of curiosity or just for fun.

Study author Professor Ivan Beschastnikh says, “Jealous snoops generally plan their action and focus on personal messages, accessing the account for 15 minutes or longer. And the consequences are significant: in many cases, snooping effectively ended the relationship.”

Facebook remains one of the most popular social media websites in the world with approximately 1.79 billion monthly active users (as of the third quarter of 2016). With that many users, online security and safety is important.

Have you ever logged on and just felt that something wasn’t right?

Maybe you felt as though someone else (maybe a loved one, maybe a stranger) had been on your account?

Well, here’s a way to check to see if anyone has logged onto your account, and more importantly where they may have.

STEP 1:

While logged onto Facebook, go to SETTINGS.

STEP 1

STEP 2:

Go to SECURITY

STEP 2

STEP 3: Click on WHERE YOU’RE LOGGED IN & EDIT

STEP 3

You’ll be able to see every place (and every platform) that someone (including yourself) logged onto your account.

To be even more safe, you can sign up for login alerts, by going to SETTINGS>SECURITY>LOGIN ALERTS.
