{The ‘Eraser’ rap is around the 7:02 mark)

After one year out of the spotlight, Ed Sheeran is back with 2 brand new singles and a new album, Divide coming out on March 3.

Ed stopped by Power 105‘s The Breakfast Club where he spoke about his year away from social media and also his weight loss / gain.

“I’ve lost like 50 pounds.  I doubled in size and sweatpants were the only thing that fit and I thought everything had shrunk in the wash but it hadn’t.” And the reason for his weight gain … beer! Ed told The Breakfast Club that once he started exercising and put a stop to drinking alcohol, the weight came right off.  He also stated that he took the ‘busy tour life’ for granted when it came to staying fit and eating healthier foods.

Ed goes on to say, “I didn’t realize how much I burned on stage. I stopped touring and I just ballooned instantly.”  He painted the Divide album cover himself, he’s boxing in the ‘Shape of You’ music video and he named his album after a math symbol because Ed … is well … Ed.

The Best Part: Ed revealed that he also raps on the opening track of his new album, ‘Divide’. He explained that originally, there were never any rhymes on the album.  He goes on to say, “I wasn’t [going to rap] and then I felt like it was missing it”,  and he names J. Cole and Stormzy as his 2 of his favorite MC’s.
