You’ve heard some of the dangers associated with online dating before and now one campaign in the UK is looking to combat that.

A poster found in a Lincolnshire was spotted by Twitter user @iizzzzzi and is gaining a lot of attention around the world.

The posters have been posted around various bars in the area and they encourage patrons (both men and women) to ask for ‘Angela’ at the bar in situations where they feel unsafe while on a date. The campaign specifically targets those who are into online dating and may be meeting someone for the first time.

This is all part of the #NoMore campaign, which was created by the Lincolnshire city council; it also gives the phone number for the Lincolnshire Rape Crisis centre for anyone that needs to talk to someone.

For the most part, people seem to think the campaign is a great idea…

Others aren’t big fans of it…

Hayley Child, a sexual violence coordinator at the council said the purpose of the campaign was, “To reduce the rates of sexual violence and abuse, a whole culture change is needed and the #NoMore awareness campaign is the start of that”.

The campaign initially ran from September to October and will start back up again next month during National Sexual Violence and Abuse Awareness Week.

What do you think about the ‘Hi Angela’ poster idea? Think it could work in Canada?
