Forbes has released their annual list of the top 30 under 30 in multiple categories.

The 2017 list of 600 names in 20 different categories includes names like actress Margot Robbie, social media personalities like Kylie Jenner and Tyler Oakley, and Victoria born Ann Makosinski!

Makosinski is only 19 years old and currently living in Vancouver while she’s in her second year at UBC taking her Bachelor in Arts/Science.

The Victoria born girl is a part of the 30 under 30 in the Energy category and what she invented is pretty awesome.

On the Forbes description it lists Makosinski’s achievements as:

Makosinski invented the Hollow Flashlight, which runs off the heat of the human hand. She also created eDrink, a mug that converts heat from your drink into an electric current to charge your phone. Has appeared twice on Jimmy Fallon and in 5 TEDx talks.

Pretty impressive when you think the only I could do when I was 19 was whine about not having unlimited texting on my phone.

Chek news reports that this isn’t the first time Makosinski has received an impressive accolade. She won the 2013 Google Science Fair Award for her age category and made the Time Magazine 30 under 30 the same year. While I’m here at 25 ashamed of fact I misspelled “received” in that last sentence. And just misspelled sentence. I think I need to lay down.

Forbes describes the 600 chosen from among more than 15,000 nominations  as “game changers who are under 30 years old in 20 industries challenging the conventional wisdom and rewriting the rules for the next generation of entrepreneurs, entertainers, educators and more.”

Ann called into the KiSS Radio to chat with us about this experience. Where she was when she got the news, what it’s like being a 19 year old with her s*** together and some inspiring advice to other ambitious young women.
