Babycenter.com just released their annual list of the top baby names of 2016. Check out which names topped the list and how pop culture influence this year’s list.


 

Once again, Sophia and Jackson wear the crown as the year’s most popular baby names.

This year there was an increase in the number of girls being named Harley (by over 35%) You can thank DC’s Suicide Squad for that one.

 

One of the most popular series to hit Netflix this year, Stranger Things, had an influence on the top 100 for both genders:
Dustin (up 32%), Mike (up 28%), and Joyce (up 23%).

Surprisingly, didn’t see Eleven on the list any where. . .

 

Another trend was to name babies after superheroes — especially those with a dark side. Banner (as in Dr. Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk) was up 48% over 2015.
