The upcoming movie called Jackie stars Natalie Portman, Greta Gerwig, Billy Crudup, Richard E. Grant and John Hurt; it is directed by Pablo Larrain.

A press release gave a brief synopsis of the film: “Jackie is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman).”

It continued, “Jackie places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of ‘Camelot’ that they created and loved so well.”

Portman plays Jacqueline Kennedy, the wife of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and in a recent interview, she discussed what she found out when researching for the role, “When she was doing interviews, [her voice] was a lot more girly and soft, and then when you hear her talking to Schlesinger at home, you hear the ice in the glass clinking and the voice is a little deeper and her wit comes out more, so you get this real sense of the two sides.”

The movie will profile the former First Lady in the months leading and the immediate aftermath of her husband’s assassination.

Jackie will be released in the United States on December 2nd!
