The latest viral trend is a real “Crowd Pleaser”

ICYMI, the Mannequin Challenge is the latest trend on social media which features people freezing in dramatic/funny poses and filming themselves as Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles,” video plays in the background.

The new meme started in late October, the first documented video comes by way of Twitter user pvrity___, who posted a group of students frozen in place and so committed to it that another student even carried them out, still frozen.

Here’s the first video, posted Oct. 26:

With over 160,000 videos now posted on Instagram and many more uploaded to YouTube, Facebook etc. the videos keep getting more complex and elaborate.

Rae Sremmurd got musically meta by playing his own song and getting an entire crowd to participate.

Even Destiny’s Child reunited just to posted a video on Instagram

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha contributed to the genre with a video of an entire restaurant rendered frozen mid-meal.

These cheerleaders took it to the next level with some serious acrobatic skills.

And finally, this gravity defying video from Zack King is breaking my brain trying to understand how they did it?!
