WAKE UP MR. WEST!!!!

Kanye West hovered his spaceship over Vancouver last night for a couple of hours of long overdue intergalactic bliss. The Saint Pablo Tour has to be experienced to be explained, and even then, what was witnessed was elated confusion at best as the self-proclaimed “Messiah Of The Mic” blessed the thousands in attendance with his serendipitous sermon.

Ripe with grunts, proclamations, and restarts, Mr. West weaved his way through the majority of his latest album The Life Of Pablo, while pontificating from the pulpit between classic cuts off his first five albums. With little to no small talk, eye contact, or encouragement, the show rolled on from song to song with near defending screams from the worshippers below, beside, and around the focal point of the night – the floating stage where Yeezus basically walked over his thousands of disciples as they waved and jumped out of sync. All great leaders at some point start to believe less is more.

It seemed as though the theme of this show was ETA: Enjoy The Art. Kanye West has NEVER shied away from the spotlight, but last night you could barely make out the figure on stage beneath the dimly lit lights that hid his face through the majority of the show save for a 5 second appearance where ‘Ye and his minions saw the light, as a spotlight shone down from the heavens above.

The otherworldy sounds of earth shattering bass (Donda Surround Sound). The super dusty rustic Mad Max-esque lighting. The ultralight beam he beamed up through as if plucking the keys of a laser piano. His Pablo merch that sold upwards of $100,000 worth in an hour of opening, with fights breaking out over lack of sizes. This wasn’t a concert. This was an Extinction Level Event.

If you missed seeing Yeezy live, he had 10 or so previously scheduled shows ready to go and just today, he announced he’s extending The Saint Pablo Tour all the way through the end of the year with two back to back shows in Brooklyn where he will undoubtedly bring out his big brother and mentor Jay Z to close out an eventful (sometime too eventful) roadtrip.
