Frank Ocean FINALLY dropped his new album Blonde yesterday and there’s already some drama over it. It all centers around Outkast’s Andre 3000’s verse on the track “Solo (Reprise)”.

(Warning explicit lyrics)

First of all I think Andre is one of the top 5 rappers currently in the world, he just doesn’t record tracks as much anymore. This verse is one of the best I’ve heard in a while. The drama comes in when Dre spits ““I am no rookie but feel like a kid/Lookin’ at the other kids/With astonishment while I’m on punishment, watchin’ the summer come close to an end/After 20 years in/I’m so naive I was under the impression that everyone wrote they own verses/It’s comin’ back different and yea that sh*t hurts me/I’m hummin’ and whistlin’ to those not deserving/I’m stumbled and lived every word, was I working just way too hard?”.

Most people think the verse is a shot at Drake. When he says “watchin the summer come close to an end”, the conscientious is that he’s referring to Drake’s current Summer Sixteen Tour. Then he says ” I was under the impression that everyone wrote they own verses/It’s comin’ back different and yea that sh*t hurts me/I’m hummin’ and whistlin’ to those not deserving/I’m stumbled and lived every word, was I working just way too hard?” which is about him allegedly using ghost writers and not writing his own lyrics.

I don’t think Drake wants it with Andre 3000. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
