As Adele began singing “All I Ask” from her third album, “25,” at last night’s Grammy Awards the sound cut out for several seconds. Although the sound returned  during the first verse… the damage had been done. For possibly the first time ever Adele sounded off-pitch “That was all an issue on our behalf,” Recording Academy president Neil Portnow said of the audio issues.

Adele explained herself via Twitter last night:

“The piano mics fell on to the piano strings; that’s what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. Shit happens. Because of it though… I’m treating myself to an In n Out [burger]. So maybe it was worth it.”
