Here comes the Canadian contingent! Ben and Jessica Mulroney were no doubt honoured to be at St. George’s Chapel for the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The TV personality and son of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney looked dapper in the front row inside the church, while his stylish wife arrived for the historic occasion alongside the Duchess of Cambridge and some of the adorable members of the bride and groom’s bridal party. Seated across from the Queen and her family during the ceremony, Jessica looked elegant in a royal blue, cap-sleeve Di Carlo Couture dress and fascinator. For the historic moment, she accessorized with Birks Rosée du Matin Blue Sapphire Drop Earrings and the brand’s Snowflake Starry Night Oval Earrings.

Not only are Ben, 42, and Jessica, 38, in attendance as guests, but their children are each playing special roles in the wedding. The proud parents beamed with pride as their twins Brian and John, 7, and four-year-old daughter Ivy walked behind Meghan, carrying her veil as she made her way to Prince Harry. From the moment that Kensington Palace announced the prince’s engagement to the Suits actress, there was no doubt that Ben and Jessica would be included in the royal wedding festivities. The couple became part of Meghan’s inner circle when she relocated to Toronto to film Suits. In the years since, Jessica has become one of her closest friends. They’ve travelled to Italy, spent time on the Suits set and attended countless events in Toronto together. A prominent style advisor and strategist, Jessica is largely credited with introducing Meghan to some of her favourite Canadian fashion labels. In the run-up to the royal wedding, she was reportedly privy to Meghan’s wedding dress fittings and has even been described as the bride’s unofficial wedding planner.

According to Harry: Life, Loss and Love author Katie Nicholl, the Mulroneys were also key to helping Meghan and her prince keep their romance private for as long as they did. She says that when news of their relationship first made headlines, the couple evaded photographers by spending time at the Mulroneys’ home. Now they’re supporting the bride and groom once more, as they help them celebrate their nuptials on the world stage.
