Crazy enough, check out this tweet that Khalid sent out in Jan. of 2014:

And look at this, almost four years later, his dream came true!

During an interview with ET, Khalid says, “This year has most absolutely been one big whirlwind.  I try to take all of my experiences in and not take anything for granted. It’s really hard for me to pick and choose highlights because everything has been so incredible!”

And when it comes to GRAMMY nominations, Khalid explains, “It definitely has not sunk in yet. I don’t know if it ever will.  This journey so far has been truly amazing, and I’m so grateful to have this platform to share my art and who I am as an individual. To be recognized and accepted by my musical peers is truly an honour.”  Has Khalid decided on who he’s taking with him on his big night? His mom, of course! ““I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for my mom.  The moment is going to be unforgettable for the both of us, and I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side.”

Now in 2017, Khalid worked with some amazing talent including Marshmello, Charli XCX, Lorde and Calvin Harris.  So what was his favourite 2017 music collaboration you ask? “I’d definitely say performing a mash-up of ‘Thunder’ and ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ with Imagine Dragons at the AMAs was the coolest collaborative moment so far.  I think the performance was unexpected, but it turned out great, and it was so much fun.”  And an artist that Khalid would love to work with in the future – Frank Ocean because he’s Khalid’s favourite artist.

Following the GRAMMYs, Khalid will head over to Europe for a tour in the spring time and then kick off his North American tour, Roxy Tour – which is named after his pup #SuperAdborbs

It’s safe to safe that 2017 has been a great year for Khalid however, when it comes to his music, Khalid explains that he’s taking it slow … for now, “I try not to get too ahead of myself in terms of my career and take in each moment as it comes.  I’m just going to keep creating music, performing and connecting with my fans. I’m really excited about what the future holds and to grow as an individual and as an artist.”
