So it’s that time of year when you’re looking at your holiday travel and thinking…”How do I get the best price? Flying over the holidays is SO EXPENSIVE!” Well you’re not alone. Thankfully we have some relief coming your way when it comes to booking a flight this holiday season and getting the best price.

Some people think the sooner you book, the better. But that’s not always the case. If you’re planning on travelling between December 16th and December 31st, you will want to book your flights 31 to 60 days in advance of the trip. If you follow that general rule, you should be able to save up to 10% on you flight! Not bad.

So thankfully that means you still have time. Don’t put it off too much though. If you book six days before your trip, that’s when prices REALLY go up! You could find yourself paying about 20% more.

One more tip to save some cash: flying on Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve can save you some money. Typically travel on those days are pretty slow and you’re likely to get a deal.

Now start planning that vacation!
