From all of the rumblings on social media we know that there are at least a few of you planning to visit this weekend The response this past week has been SO much bigger than we honestly could have imagined in our wildest dreams and we couldn't be more grateful, the flip side of that is we are selling stock faster than we ever could have anticipated so we are low or out of some things. I am working around the clock right now to get more stock here as soon as possible but wanted to be completely transparent as we would hate for anyone to be disappointed! Die-hard Harry Potter fans living in Canada no longer have to make their way to Florida’s Wizarding World in order to get their magic fix; we now have our own HP-inspired store right here in Toronto!

Curiosa: Purveyors of Extraordinary Things is our newest Canadian hotspot for all things magical. From spell books to Marauder’s maps to your very own wand, there’s something for every witch and wizard that wanders through their door—some directly Potter-related, and others more generally magic-themed.

Instagram is already brimming with pics and vids of the crazy-cool purchases people are making, and living vicariously through them until we get our hands on an invisibility cloak of our own. This praxinoscope and other vintage toys we didn’t know we needed until RN

140 years ago today Charles-Émile Reynaud filed for a patent for a then unnamed optical toy, later to be called the Praxinoscope. Reynaud had read an article in La Nature earlier in 1876 and was inspired to create his first Praxinoscope prototype out of a discarded cookie box.
