On Thursday, Snapchat made the announcement about Snap Map. It’s a location feature that would show your friends where you are and if you’re nearby.

Ummm…creepy!

We totally get that they thought it was a good idea so you could connect friends who are nearby, but it gives us serious creeper vibes.

The good news is that you can turn it off if you’d like.

Here’s how to do it:

When you first open the app after updating, pinch the screen to activate maps. You may be asked at this point to allow location access.

After this, you will be taken to a screen offering various visibility settings. If you want to not show up on maps, pick Ghost Mode here.

If you have already enabled your location to be visible on maps you can go into settings, your location, and turn it off.
