The Wacken Open Air Festival goes every August in the tiny town of Wacken Germany. Almost 75,000 people show up every year, and they drink a lot of beer. So much, that organizers have had to install a beer pipeline. Yeah, you read that right.

A 7km pipe will run 400,000L of beer under farmers fields for the festival. Which is a major improvement on the last system, big trucks with lots of beer. The pipe will make it possible to pour 6 beers in 6 seconds. Now it will be a lot faster and easier for Wackengoer’s to enjoy a brew.

This will be the second beer pipeline in the world. The first one opened last year in Belgium, between a brewery’s brewing centre and bottling plant.
