Everyone wants to enjoy their movie without watching someone’s phone lighting up from texting, right? A man from Austin went on a date with a woman he met online, and just wanted to enjoy his movie. They went to see “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” and I don’t think a second date is in the cards for these two.

Seriously. ? #GotGVol2

Brandon Vezmar, 37, of Austin is filing a claim against his date for the cost of her ticket, for $17.31. From the way Brandon describes it, it sounds like the woman, who has asked to not be named, spent the movie texting furiously. The woman has said she sent one or two texts to a friend who was fighting with her boyfriend, and kept the brightness low. Brandon asked her to put her phone away, or maybe take it outside, and so she did. She left the theater, got in her car, and drove off into the sunset. Boy, bye.

“Groot, put your seatbelt on!” Tag who you’re taking to see #GotGVol2 in theaters May 5th!

No one likes when people use their phones in a movie theater, but suing a date over the cost of a date gone wrong is probably not the way to handle the situation.

I can imagine the spin-off titles for the movie about this bad date already; “I went on a Date with a Man I Met Online and All I Got was a Lawsuit”, “When Bad Dates Go Really, Really, Really Wrong; No Second Date Edition” or “How I Became A Cat Lady; A Bad Date Story”.

Will justice be served? Will Brandon get his $17.31? Will she ever date again? We may never know.
