Carter Wilkerson is my new hero.

Chicken nuggets might just be the perfect food. Who doesn’t love bite sized pieces of chicken that’re deep fried and perfect for dipping into your favourite sauce of choice. Honey BBQ for me, please.

Carter Wilkerson also has this love of nuggets and decided to do something bold. Something brilliant. Something only the bravest among us can only dream of doing.

He asked Wendy’s what he would need to do to get a year’s worth of free chicken nuggets.

Props to Wendy’s for whoever runs their social media because they are seriously killing it. They are always quick to clap back at haters or give a sassy response to their competitors and unlike other big companies who seem to just ignore random comments like this, they responded.

So right now, 18 million retweets is what stands between Carter and 365 days worth of nugget goodness.

Currently, the tweet that needs all those retweets is this one:

Two weeks ago when I originally told you about this story, the tweet was only at 1.1M retweets but as of April 18th it’s at almost 3.1M!!!! Carter still has a ways to go but he is starting to get a lot of help! Including getting his own emoji hashtag on Twitter!

And now, it’s even caught Ellen’s attention. But she’s not really trying to help Carter. Currently, Ellen’s Oscar Selfie tweet is the most retweeted tweet on the site and Carter’s tweet is threatening her record. So she brought him on the show to talk about their friendly rivalry.

If the momentum keeps up, it seems like Carter should be able to reach his goal in a few weeks and it is doable.

Twitter reported back in 2016 that there are over 319M active users so as long as people keep sharing this story, Carter’s dream might come true.

If you share Carter’s love of chicken nuggets and have a twitter account, help him out.

We’ve already done our part:
