New information has come out about which emojis are deal breakers for men and women. These could be the reason you’re not getting a response.

Free dating app Clover analyzed data from three million users to determine which emojis were hits, and which were total flops, with male and female users.

Interesting to learn that both genders are more likely to response to messages that contain emojis, but there are definitely ‘good’ and ‘bad’ emojis to include.

So choose wisely and there are the emojis you should and shouldn’t include the next time you try to strike up a convo with someone.

lady emojis

For dudes, if you want a lady to respond to you opt for fun flirty emoji like any of the monkeys or smiling faces.

This shouldn’t be a surprise but ladies DO NOT want you to send them an eggplant emoji because of it’s ‘phallic’ undertone. Just like they don’t want you to send them an unsolicited dick pic. Seriously, don’t send us photos of your junk. That’s a major NO NO.

Now ladies, these are the emojis that you should and shouldn’t be using:

men emojis

Looking at the information from Clover, it’s similar to the men’s infographic. Keep it fun, keep it flirty. Now what seems to be scaring guys away are the ring emoji, which makes sense. No one wants to bust out the ‘M’ word or start talking about engagement rings right out the gate so just avoid that one. The crying face also isn’t popular, along with the ‘Vulcan’ salute or the poop emoji.

So I guess don’t talk about marriage, don’t appears to be sad/emotional, Star Trek nerds aren’t welcome and keep your poop jokes on lock till later.

Noted.

Now get out there and text your little hearts out.
