Yes, go ahead and giggle at the number 69. Then, get excited that we’re getting dinosaurs and a PIE EMOJI!!!!!

Unicode, the consortium responsible for choosing the new emoji across all platforms, has been working on the latest emoji for months and they’re almost ready for the their June 2017 launch.

 

Now, Emojipedia has the 69 new emoji candidates on its site, rendered in an “Apple-like style” so we can see what they could one day look like in iMessage.

To be clear: These are not the final drafts of the new emoji; as tweeted by emojipedia this morning:

 

It looks like we’ll be getting some dinosaurs, a number of female and male fantasy beings like elves, zombies, genies, mer-people and vampires! There is also some controversy over there being a breast-feeding emoji but c’mon, it’s 2017. Why are we still getting upset about a mother feeding her baby? Speaking of food, in the food emoji category we’ll be seeing a coconut, broccoli and a PIE EMOJI!

But be excited about the pie emoji!!!

On Pi (3.14) Day, I made the joke that we needed to start a change.org petition to get the pie emoji. And it looks like Apple totally listened to use and that’s why the pie emoji is coming.

So kudos to all 3 of you who signed it, because clearly we made our voices heard and made this change happen!

 

To celebrate, I’m going to listen to the Pie Day song on repeat all day today.
