Shawn Mendes is making his acting debut in a movie musical called Summer of Love. This film will hopefully be directed by Toronto-raised Ivan Reitman, who has also worked on “Ghostbusters,” “Space Jam,” and “Animal House.”

Mendes has been on a few TV shows already and he voiced a character in the animated movie Underdogs which was released in 2013. According to Billboard, Summer of Love “is being described as a road-trip movie” and will be based on events in the summer of 1967. No other details have been released yet.
